| Five-A-Side Anchor ANCL 2001
|
Tracks: | "Five-A-Side"
was ACE's debut album, and a glorious
one it is. It is from this album their one and only hit "How
Long" is taken. The album was recorded in Rockfield and Trident
Studios with John Anthony as producer. Guest musicians here were Chris Hughes, Mick Eves and Buddy Beadle all contributing on horns on one track "24 Hours". Chris Hughes also plays saxophone on "Satellite". |

Ace Album Anchor ANCL 2001 |
Tracks: | "An Ace Album" is excactly the same album as "Five-A-Side", the only difference is the cover. This version I suspect being made for the American marked, but I'm not totally sure of it. The reason for my suspicion here is that in America, I don't think they know anything about five-a-side football at all. It contains the cover of the album above on the inner sleeve and the number on the album sleeve is just the same. |

For Another Anchor ANCL 2013 |
Tracks: | On "Time For Another" the production was done by John Anthony again using the Rockfield and Advision Studios this time. Only Rusty Young from the American band Poco (and countless other session-jobs for that matter) contributes with steel guitar on "Does It Hurt You". |

Strings Anchor ANCL 2020 |
Tracks: | Before "No Strings" was recorded Phil Harris had left the band and been replaced by Jon Woodhead, an American. And the band was living in USA for awhile. The recording was done in two studios in California, Shangri-La and Cherokee Studios, now with Trevor Lawrence as a producer. He also contributed with saxophone playing on the track "Rock And Roll Singer" together with Bobby Keyes (sax), Jim Price (trombone) and Steve Madaio (trumpet). |

Long - The Best Of ACE Music Club MCCD 123 |
Tracks: | About this best of compilation "How Long - The Best Of ACE", I don't know that much since I don't have it in my own collection. But it contains a brief history of the band and of course their hit "How Long" is included here. It's released on the budget label Music Club, which is a good label when it comes to content, but is really lousy when it comes to packaging. Thanx to my good friend Mr. BluesMan for the info on this one. |
